Saklaw Thought, also known as Saklawism (Saklawismo), is the systematization of the works of Dr. Thomas Saklaw, considered to be the most important founder of the Lapian. It envisions a well-connected, people-organized society that prioritizes the needs of each of its citizens rather than looking at society at a macro level. Dr. Saklaw believed that this can be achieved only through popular support and thus worked towards gaining popularity with the masses and eventually winning elections until the declaration of the start of the Revolutionary Transformation, which was its platform. Additionally, the ideology worked towards the creation of unions throughout the country and of well-connected federations of said unions, allowing for quicker propagation of ideas, platforms, and plans of action before the digital age.
The placement of the individual above the community is a distinct feature of Saklaw Thought. In this formulation, an initiative, policy, or program is considered to be anti-proletariat when it is done with the view of sacrifice of the few for the sake of the many or "the greater good." Thus, the view should be that while sacrifices will be made or can be necessary in many instances, the benefit should be maximized even if it takes longer, is harder, or is more complicated. The Lapian believes that building a socialist society is only possible when the whole of society knows that they, as an individual, are valued and part of the bigger picture presented by the party.
Saklaw Thought also emphasizes the importance of nationalism. It formulates nationalism as a view wherein industry, resources, and commerce are all geared towards national and societal progress and prosperity in a tangible sense. This means that geopolitics, international trade, and the like bend to what the party perceives to be beneficial to the country at both a micro and a macro level. It moves away from a sense of love for country, which it now labels separately as patriotism, and transforms the concept into having all commercial and industrial activity to be happening for society. Profit is therefore not a motivator unless it is for societal good. Private enterprises are also strictly regulated and monitored for any potential abuses, especially those that are not overseen by unions or union-owned/led. Love for country is therefore expressed through benefitting workers, the community, and society as a whole.
